Job Summary:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Supervisor of the 811 / Locating Group will oversee all services offered through the scope of private locating and 811 locating.


Drive operational management goals among the team.
Ensure contract expectations are met.
Maintain company standards for budgets including labor/overtime and supply and field costs.
Oversee the damage prevention efforts in all divisions.
Assist with training regarding company expectations to all management and personnel.
Interact with designated client representatives.
Engage in direct daily reporting of staffing and resource allocation with your team.
Ensure all training meets NULCA and company safety guidelines.
Suggest employee development plans to State Manager
Develop processes and procedures that will support the team’s safety, quality, and efficiency.
Ensure reporting is being delivered per contractual obligations/expectations.
Attend client meetings as required.
Engage in scheduled team calls and provide support to field meetings.
Provide operational and staffing support outside operational footprint.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum two years of proven successful experience in utilities.
Must possess a clear understanding of underground utility construction.
Must have proven locate and leadership skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with people.
Class E Valid Driver’s License required.

Physical Requirements:

Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.  
Must be able to drive a vehicle up to four hours to travel to and from job sites.  
Must be able to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.  
Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
Must have flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the business.
